Saturday 11th October 2025

A self-supported walking & running challenge linking Weston’s Grand Pier to Clevedon Pier – raising funds for local charities.

This year, we’re bringing together two legendary landmarks: Weston-super-Mare’s Grand Pier and Clevedon Pier – for a one-day coastal adventure.

Whether you take it steady or power through, this event is for the feet (sorry cyclists, you’ll have to cheer us on this time!). It’s about community, challenge, and raising as much as we can for two brilliant causes: The IVF Fund (rasing money to support couples struggling to start a family) and The Hangar Community Projects (not-for-profit health & wellbeing sessions for marginalised groups).

WHY WE'RE RAISING MONEY

IVF FUNDING

HANGAR PROJECTS

A few years ago, we started a fund to support couples facing fertility challenges. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our friends, family, and kind strangers -whether through buying pizzas or taking part in our gym workouts -we were able to raise thousands of pounds. This money has helped many couples achieve their dream of starting a family.

Today, we're thrilled to share a photo of one such miracle: little Cooper. He's an IVF success story made possible by the money you helped raise. Cooper's incredible parents, Steph and Jake, have now joined our fundraising team to help more families experience the same joy they have.

Your support has already brought so much hope, and with your help, we can continue to grow more families. Thank you for your continued generosity.

Two years ago, the community turned an old joiner's workshop Weston-super-Mare into The Hangar, a not-for-profit gym and community space. Since then, it’s become more than just a place to train - it’s a safe haven where young people at risk, adults struggling with confidence, and whole families have found belonging, purpose, and strength. From free youth programmes and mentoring, to women’s confidence sessions and inclusive fitness classes, The Hangar has been quietly changing lives every single day.

Now we want to take it further. With your help, we’ll expand the space, create new opportunities, and give even more people a chance to thrive. Every pound you raise helps us build a stronger, healthier community right here in North Somerset - one where everyone has a place to belong.

THREE CHEERS FOR THE PIERS...

Grand Pier –The gem of Weston-super-Mare

From amusements to afternoon tea, this iconic landmark is the beating heart of Weston’s seafront. Our starting and finishing point, the Grand Pier is generously supporting the event with space, signage, and that all-important post-challenge fish & chip welcome!

Clevedon Pier – England’s Only Grade I Listed Pier

Steeped in Victorian charm, Clevedon Pier is our midway marker and turning point. Its stunning views make the halfway point worth every step. This is also the start point for anyone wanting to take on just one leg of the challenge (finishing at The Grand Pier)

  • For the challenge – set yourself a goal that will get you moving.
  • For the community – share the route with friends, family, and local legends.
  • For the cause – help raise money to start families through IVF and for people unable to access exercise and sport.
  • For the view – coastal paths, fresh sea air, and two of the UK’s most beautiful piers.

WHY TAKE PART?

FURTHER DETAILS

What to expect on the day

This isn’t a race - it’s a shared adventure. On the morning of Saturday 11th October, we’ll gather at Weston’s Grand Pier and set off together along the stunning coastal path towards Clevedon.

Because this is a self-supported challenge, you’ll set your own pace and take responsibility for your food, water, and kit. Some will stride ahead, others will take it steady, but we expect natural groups to form - so there’s always company and encouragement along the way.

As it’s our first ever Pier to Pier Challenge, you’ll be part of the founding group - the ones who get to say “I was there from the start.” Together, we’ll be laying the foundations for an annual community tradition.

And don’t worry, we’ll be with you every step of the way: you’ll get a route map, an advice pack, and a pre-event briefing so you know exactly what to expect.

Fundraising Support

This event is all about raising as much as we can for our chosen charities. Every participant will have access to:

  • A dedicated fundraising contact to answer questions.

  • Ready-to-share graphics and social posts to make fundraising simple.

  • A community of fellow walkers and runners cheering each other on.

Safety & Responsibility

We’ve worked carefully to make the day safe and enjoyable, but it’s important you know what’s expected too:

  • You’ll be walking or running on public paths, with a few road crossings. Please take care and follow the Highway Code.

  • Wear suitable footwear and clothing, bring water and snacks, and make sure your phone is fully charged.

  • First aid will be available at the start, midpoint, and finish, but you are ultimately responsible for your own wellbeing.

  • This is a voluntary, self-supported event. You take part at your own pace and at your own risk.

Think of it as an adventure: simple, honest, and community-driven.
